17-year-old Tal has emigrated from France to Jerusalem with her family. She writes a letter expressing her refusal to accept that only hatred can reign between Israelis and Palestinians. She slips the letter into a bottle, and her brother throws it into the sea near Gaza, where he is carrying out his military service. A few weeks later, Tal receives an e-mail response from a mysterious "Gazaman," a young Palestinian named Nam. Thus begins a turbulent but tender long-distance friendship between two young people that are separated by a history they are trying both to understand and change. This engrossing and hopeful drama starring Hiam Abbas is based on the award-winning novel by Valrie Zenatti. (c) Film Movement

New Trailer For A Bottle in the Gaza Sea

Review For A Bottle in the Gaza Sea

It raises the hope that someday, perhaps, there can be a meeting of Israeli and Palestinian minds.
V.A. Musetto-New York Post

A gentle pairing of youthful idealism and tenacious hope.
Jeannette Catsoulis-New York Times

What elevates [it] ... is the gentleness with which Binisti approaches his difficult subject.
Elizabeth Weitzman-New York Daily News

Although smoothly directed, A Bottle in the Gaza Sea has little visual personality or dramatic urgency.
Jon Frosch-Village Voice

The film's notion that a little understanding and a lot of e-mailing would basically solve the Middle East crisis ... is as reductive as it is utopian.
David Fear-Time Out New York

The initially cynical Naim suggests Tal's project is insignificant, nothing but a bottle of hope bobbing about in a sea of enmity - and so too this film.
Kate Taylor-Globe and Mail

This is the story of people who dream big dreams and find a common understanding in the face of impossible difficulties. It's hard not to get behind that.
Robert Levin-amNewYork

Yet another impressive dramatic take on the endless Middle East impasse and attendant violence.
Doris Toumarkine-Film Journal International

A teenage immigrant from France living in Israel and a Palestinian youth try to break down the barriers that separate them.
Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat-Spirituality and Practice

The film obviously can't resolve the conflict between Palestine and Israel, but the resolution to the story's arc feels nonetheless forced and misplaced.
Caroline McKenzie-Slant Magazine

A Bottle In The Gaza Sea is a well-meaning but rather insistently earnest plea for mutual understanding between Israelis and Palestinians.
Norman Wilner-NOW Toronto

New Trailer For King Kelly

Review For King Kelly

If social satire that elicits scornful laughter is your kind of humor, "King Kelly" will have you doubled over with guilty guffaws.
Stephen Holden-New York Times

Cynical sexploitation neither thrills nor entertains.
John DeFore-Hollywood Reporter

Neel has hit upon a compelling reason for the found-footage gimmick: to indict a narcissistic generation who think their phones make them royalty.
Matt Singer-Time Out New York

One of the cleverest, funniest and most appallingly true films of the year.
David Noh-Film Journal International

It's an unflinching update to media scholar Neil Postman's prophetic claim about the deadly impact of television on cultural identity: Smartphones in hand, we face the danger of filming ourselves to death.
Eric Kohn-indieWIRE

King Kelly is a broad indictment of the emptier side of self-documentation and a more nuanced one of the Internet as a source of affirmation.
Alison Willmore-AV Club

The film decides very early on, as part of its premise, to reduce Louisa Krause's King Kelly to a one-dimensional narcissist.
Diego Costa-Slant Magazine

King Kelly is a film worth seeking out for fans who like social commentary mixed intelligently with entertainment.
Rob Hunter-Film School Rejects

New Trailer For Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola

Review For Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola

Save for a couple of visually engaging dance numbers, mostly shot with hand-held digital cameras, MKBKM is dishearteningly banal.
Simon Abrams-Village Voice

Judicious editing could have helped consolidate the joyfulness at the expense of occasionally repetitive narrative flab, but for the most part "Matru" is neatly energetic, a mix of screwball whimsy and softball seriousness.
Robert Abele-Los Angeles Times

A mix of gently outraged populism and low-powered romantic comedy, Vishal Bhardwaj's "Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola" might have been better with a chunk lopped off its two-and-a-half-hour runtime.
Rachel Saltz-New York Times

A technically proficient widescreen opus that shifts, jarringly, between a generic love-triangle rom-com, a farcical political black comedy and a preachy message-movie. Some fragmented images and well-played moments leave an impact; most don't.
Simon Foster-sbs.com.au

Scattershot romantic comedy about an arranged marriage between an heiress and a politician's son that will ruin several rural farms.
Daniel Eagan-Film Journal International

A zany satire that will leave you either mesmerised by its brilliance or just a little dazed by it's lunacy.
